Aerospace Education is one of the three-prop programs of Civil Air Patrol. The purpose of Aerospace Education or AE is to train cadet and senior members, as well as teachers and the public, on the importance of Aerospace to the future of America. Dakota Ridge Composite Squadron currently boasts half of its senior members having completed the voluntary Aerospace Education Program for Senior Members (AEPSM) test. Cadets take portions of the same material in their Aerospace tests to become eligible for promotion.
The External Aerospace Education program is directed at teachers in local schools to encourage them to use aerospace materials in their classroom curriculum.
