Each year, cadets and senior members of ECS attend the Colorado Wing Cadet Encampment at the Air Force Academy. This week-long encampment is "basic training" for new cadets and is an opportunity to meet cadets from different parts of the country in a unique training environment. New cadets are encouraged to attend this important training. More experienced cadets serve on staff at encampment. ECS was proud to have six cadets serving in cadet staff positions and eight cadets attending as "basics" for the 2008 Encampment in June. One additional Evergreen Cadet attended encampment in the Advanced Training Flight.

Colorado Wing Ground Search and Rescue School (GSAR) is another popular activity. This week long activity, usually held in July, is hands-on training to qualify members for Search and Rescue Missions.
