When CAP began, America was worried about attack from outside. More often we worry about extreme weather forces causing disasters in our communities. In CAP we train to be prepared to battle natural disasters; the same kind of training helps us develop skills to battle man-made disasters. Emergency Services includes disaster preparedness, homeland security, cyber security, as well as search and rescue for missing people or aircraft. We have expanded to do aerial photography to support these missions. We follow ICS protocols for incident command so that we can mesh with other agencies during any kind of incident. We are professional volunteers; like all first responders we are here to help.
